Farmington Country Club is looking for an experienced professional who enjoys working with plants and people, and who believes in quality work and attention to detail, to join the staff of our Grounds Maintenance Department. This position has a strong emphasis on turf and irrigation system maintenance. Our Landscape Specialist is responsible for managing and participating in the daily maintenance of the Club grounds, to include: turf, ornamental plant installation and maintenance, irrigation system installation and maintenance, performing IPM/PHC inspections and follow up, pesticide application, assisting with the tree maintenance program, training and supervising staff, care and safe operation of both hand tools and power equipment and participating in routine grounds maintenance tasks.
Competitive candidates should have a college degree in Agronomy or related field; a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in Grounds Maintenance or related field; a Virginia Commercial Not for Hire 3 A, 3 B, and 6 Pesticide License; and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. This job requires the ability to stand, walk long distances, carry items, stoop, kneel, and crouch; and to lift objects weighing 50 pounds. Some holiday and weekend work required.
